Knights Claim Seventh-Straight SUNYAC Championship

NORWOOD, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior Elise Ramirez was crowned individual champion as the Knights won their seventh-consecutive State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Cross Country Championship, Saturday, hosted by Potsdam.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Ramirez (22:22.2) was the first of four-consecutive Geneseo runners to cross the finish line as the Knights placed five runners in the top-seven.
  • Senior Kristen Homeyer placed second (22:37.1) for her best career finish after placing 10th last year and 11th in both 2014 and 2015.
  • Junior Allison Fernandez placed third (22:46.7), improving 50 spots from her first appearance in the race last year. 
  • Sophomore Dana Cebulski finished fourth (22:53.6) after a 20th-place effort a season ago.
