Women's Tennis Sweeps Oswego, 9-0, in Home Opener

GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo sophomore Grace Klomp was one of five double-winners for the Knights as they swept State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) rival Oswego, 9-0, at the Geneseo Tennis Complex on Tuesday afternoon. 

Klomp teamed with sophomore Julianna Schulz to earn an 8-0 victory at the second doubles flight while sophomores Natalia Krol and Sophia Alkhouri Stuart nabbed an 8-0 win at third doubles. Senior Sam Montague and junior Dana Sorrentino grabbed an 8-2 win at the top doubles flight, giving the Knights a 3-0 advantage. 

In singles, Montague, Krol and Sorrentino each earned 6-0, 6-0 victories at the second, third and sixth flights, respectively. Schulz defeated her opponent at first singles, 6-2, 6-2, while Klomp won 6-2, 6-0 at fourth singles and junior Catherine Gluchowski completed the sweep with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at the fifth flight. 

Geneseo (2-0, 1-0 SUNYAC) will travel to Cortland on Friday afternoon to face the Red Dragons at 4:30 p.m.
