BUFFALO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior Mitchell Phelps earned a first-place finish in the 200 free and first-year Corey Wirth topped the field in the one-meter dive but the Knights fell to NCAA Division I Canisius, 149-94, on Saturday afternoon.
Phelps placed first in the 200 free with a time of 1:47.23 and added a second place finish in the 100 back (54.39) to pace the Knights. Wirth registered a 279.45 score in the one-meter, taking first place in his collegiate debut off the board. He also placed second in the three-meter, turning in a score of 266.48.
The Knights will return to action on Saturday, November 3 when they travel to Fredonia to take on the Blue Devils and visiting Grove City in a tri-meet.
