Shots (on goal)
GENEVA, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's soccer team suffered a 1-0 defeat at Hobart, Saturday, at Cozzens Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the 32nd minute, Hobart (2-2-1) scored the lone goal of the match after first-year midfielder Kyle Mangold received a through pass behind the Geneseo back line. Knights' sophomore goalkeeper Dillon Medd came out to challenge him, but Mangold made a move to avoid him and scored into the empty net.
- Geneseo's best scoring opportunity had come a minute earlier when senior midfielder Alex Clar got a pass inside the box and took a shot that was saved by Statesmen junior goalkeeper Alec Kaminer.
- Medd made four saves in 90 minutes of work.
- Hobart outshot Geneseo, 16-7, and totaled six corners while holding the Knights to one.
The Knights (3-2-1) return to action on Friday (Sept. 22) when they host Buffalo State at 3:00 p.m. to open State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) competition.
