GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo men's ice hockey head coach Chris Schultz and assistant coaches Kris Heeres and Dan Loughran were named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Coaching Staff of the Year, announced by the conference on Tuesday.

The Knights finished the regular season with a 20-3-2 record, including a 13-1-2 mark in conference play, earning their third-consecutive 20-win season and fourth in the last five years. Geneseo went on to defeat Potsdam, 7-0, in the SUNYAC Semifinals and then topped Oswego, 4-1, in the SUNYAC Finals to earn its third-straight SUNYAC Championship.

The Knights earned a berth to the NCAA Tournament for the third-straight season and the eighth time in program history. The coaching staff oversees the nation's top scoring offense and top scoring margin, as the Knights have averaged 5.07 goals per game, outscoring opponents by an average of more than three goals per game. Senior forwards Andrew Romano (14-42-56) and Conlan Keenan (22-28-50) rank in the top three in NCAA Division III in scoring while the Knights' 48 power play goals lead the country as well.

Geneseo will host the winner of Adrian and Hobart in the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Tournament on Saturday, March 21 at 7:00 p.m.
