Men's Soccer Takes Down Morrisville, 4-0, in Regular Season Finale

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior forward Noah Van Zandt recorded his first multi-goal game in his final contest as a Knight, leading the team to a 4-0 victory over Morrisville on Tuesday evening. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Van Zandt scored in the 26th minute of the game to put the Knights ahead and tallied his second goal in the 54th minute of the game.
  • First-year forward Ari Samoohy added a score just 3:01 after Van Zandt's second goal to extend the lead to 3-0.
  • Senior forward Gavin Gleasman capped his Geneseo career with a late insurance goal, scoring in the 69th minute to seal the game. 

QUICK FACTS

  • Gleasman finishes the season with the team lead in scoring, tallying four goals while Van Zandt and Samoohy each end the year with three.
  • Junior goalkeeper Liam Dole made one save in 60 minutes of action to earn the win.
  • Junior goalkeeper Mitchell Capitula made his collegiate debut in net, making one save in 30 minutes in relief. 
  • The Knights (7-7-4) will graduate seniors Greg Baumstein, Austin DeRidder, Gleasman, Connor Ross and Van Zandt.
